Simba

Meet Simba, an exuberant young German Shepherd with a zest for life that’s simply contagious. He’s an intelligent, enthusiastic buddy who needs a firm, confident, and active human companion to help him channel his overflowing energy and quick wit. Simba’s a special boy who needs an adult-only home experienced with large breed dogs, with an understanding of their unique needs and temperaments.

Simba’s boundless energy makes engaging playtimes and active lifestyle key parts of his daily life. He needs lots of physical and mental stimulation, so a home with ample space and an active routine would suit him the best. Simba can be boisterous and vocal, and he’s quick to show joy at seeing other dogs. He has been able to engage with other dogs healthily, though his vivaciousness can sometimes be overwhelming. A family willing to devote time to his one-on-one training and socialization, even possibly walking him separately from other dogs initially, will help him integrate well.

Simba also has a keen sense of exploration, leading him toward energetic outdoor play and a bit of a pull on the leash. A confident handler who can work with him on better leash manners would be ideal. He is also very food-motivated, giving a fantastic opportunity for training and building a strong bond.

Simba is trained for bathroom breaks outside, which is a great foundation to build upon for additional home etiquette. While in the shelter, Simba found the environment stressful, but with the right home and a steady routine, we expect his resilience to shine.
