Tag 34212 – Bull Arab – Male – 4 years – “Polo”

Polo was surrendered to us because his owner couldn’t provide him with time. He’s a sweet, quiet boy who hasn’t had much of a life so he’s definitely going to appreciate someone who will treat him with kindness & provide him with good care & loads of patience & understanding. Through socialization & training, Polo will gain confidence. He’s a lovely boy, best suited to a peaceful, moderately active adult family or a family with dog savvy, older teens.

NOT YET TESTED WITH CATS.

Tag 34209 – Greyhound – Male – 3 years – “Heaven (Leigh)”

Leigh was surrendered to us because his trainer felt that he was too sensitive for racing & just spending time with him will make you see that this beautiful boy was born to be a couch potato. He is a sensitive, gentle & placid boy who loves to nestle his nose in the crook of your neck. He will stand there in ecstasy while you massage his shoulders & talk to him in a kind manner. He enjoys walks & he loves to follow you wherever you go & laze by your feet (or on the couch) while you watch TV. Gorgeous Leigh would suit a warm & loving family.

Greyhounds are beautiful dogs but Leigh is one of the nicest you will ever meet. He is a credit to his breed.

He is fabulous with other dogs!!

NOT SUITABLE FOR A HOME WITH CATS PLEASE.

Tag 34112 – Greyhound – Female – 8 years – “Roo”

Greyhounds are such superb dogs & Roo is no exception. She is extremely loving, generally calm & so friendly. She has had some training & she enjoys going for walks. She will sit when asked & she travels well in the car. She is medium sized for a Greyhound so not too big. She would suit a moderately active adult family or a family with teens. Roo qualifies for our Golden Oldies Program.

Tag 34001 - Long Haired Chihuahua - Male - 4 years - "Sparky"

Tag 34002 - Long Haired Chihuahua - Female - 4 years - "Sasha" - TO BE ADOPTED TOGETHER

Sasha & Sparky were surrendered to us because their owner could no longer keep them. They are an adorable brother & sister duo with quiet, gentle & placid natures. At the time of their surrender, they were carried into our office & their former owner mentioned that Sparky had a “slight limp”, which we noted, but once on the ground, we found that Sparky could barely walk. He was dragging his back legs behind him & further investigation from our shelter vet revealed that specialist care would be required. Sparky underwent a lengthy, five hour operation to further evaluate & reposition his kneecaps that were both displaced medially. Tubial crests were transplanted significantly laterally & he is now in foster care & improving everyday.

Sparky & Sasha will soon be available for adoption so we would welcome expressions of interest via our dog wanted forms, situated on the home page of our website.

Thank you to everyone who generously &kindly donated money towards Sparky's costly operation. You have made a little dog....plus all the shelter staff & volunteers, very happy & so chuffed.
