Success stories
Lee

I'd like to thank you one more time for giving me chance to have my baby girl Lee. She is beautiful lovely dog. We have lots of fun together.

Jasper

We got Jasper from the shelter February 2007. At first meeting he was very shy and unsure, however we loved him straight away. After a few expected setbacks he has settled in extremely well. At first he would not come into the house, he was very scared of doors & men (apparently he was never allowed in to the house in his previous life) . Now he is first through the door & at the door when guests visit. We have taken him with us in the caravan and he loves to travel and see the sights.

He is an extremely loving dog and enjoys just sitting on a lap with us and watching movies. He shows extreme intelligence, knowing what is right and wrong. He sometimes tests the boundaries, however the change in him is so dramatic in 8 months.

We cannot imagine our lives without him now.

Layla

Our son Craig adopted Layla from the pound on the 27th of August, when she was a year old. He brought her to her new home, on Phillip Island. We were cautious at first. We had never owned or heard much, about Siberian Huskies before. We warmed to her very quickly and she has settled in well in her new home. In fact it's like she's been here, forever. She is learning to respond to her name, when it suits her! Very early on we learnt not to let her off her lead. Several times when we were at the beach she escaped but managed to find her way home at dinner time. Living in a small community, people were only too happy to keep an eye out for her. Luckily she was returned home safely to us. Now we walk her on an extended lead and she is just as happy.
Layla's idea of fetch is taking the ball and making us fetch it from her, but she is slowly learning to bring it back but now we have to teach her to give it back. Layla loves trying to eat our socks, as she's still a puppy we have to make sure we put them out of her reach. I've caught Layla up on the back fence a few times, trying to see the wildlife in the vacant block next door. We also had a problem with her digging under our fences but have fixed that with reinforcement and extra soil. We love her quiet nature and recently introduced a new female 5 month old Husky called Marnie, into her life. They are still adjusting to each other but they seem to be getting along just fine. Layla and Marnie also have lots of puppy friends in their neighborhood.
While we were cautious at first, we know Layla and now Marnie, have made a great deal of change in our lives and we are thankful that we were the one's to adopt her.

Tia

Just sending a current photo of Tia. We adopted her in March; I don't think she even reached the website before you responded to my request. The pic of her sitting was taken when she came home, (estimated at 6 mths) and the other yesterday, just before all the extra coat was combed out. As you can see, she has claimed our outdoor table. We are training with ADT, and although she learns very quickly, she is also very strong willed, so it is an interesting experience. Unlike our Rotties, she loves water, and will jump right in a wheelbarrow full of water and chase her tail.
She has chewed through the entire watering system, pruned and unpotted numerous shrubs, chewed through a motorbike and a bicycle seat... just as well she has charm!
Good luck with all the others - I often check the site just to see what's there.
Regards,
Brenda

Pixie

Just thought I would write to you and let you know how Pixie is. She is doing really well and we all absolutely adore her. She has been going to obedience school and passed the beginners class with flying colours and attempted Level One graduation yesterday but we get to try again next year as she insists on walking a foot infront of me instead of at heel but otherwise performs all other tasks very well.

She gets along well with the other members of the household and even allows Brandy to share her toys occasionally. She is very affectionate and likes to stay very close to me and I often wake up in the morning sandwiched between my over grown ginger cat and Pixie.

Pixie is now over her reluctance to get in the car and happily climbs in without fuss when asked. She can be a bit of a couch hog but sits only on the area I cover with a rug (what a good girl ). Physically she is looking really good, has toned up and lost a little weight and her skin is nice and clear. And yes the other breed is most definitely kelpie....she decided to moult...ugh!!!! I have included some pictures so you can see how happy she looks for yourself.
