Success stories
Luna

Hi everyone at the AAPS Shelter in Keysborough, it's me Luna the 10 month old female Foxy/Jack Russel X who went home with my new Boss a couple of weeks ago. Well it's been a bit hectic really but now we are finally settled in at our new home up here in the north of Victoria where it's warrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm. We have a nice comfortable place to live and the town has a lake and plenty of green grass to run around and chase the ducks and coots (snicker). I almost caught a rabbit yesterday during our morning walk along the lake but it went into a prickly horrible place and I didn't want to go in there after it (sigh).
My new Boss adds Tyk to the end of my name when I am playing and going silly (Luna~Tyk, I don't get it but humans can be quite weird). He made me a lovely new bed to sleep in but I prefer to sleep in his bed with him much to his grumblings. He calls me Starfish when we wake up in the mornings but all I do is make myself comfortable at night and perhaps do take up a little more space than I truly need (flutter eyelashes).

Anyway my friends, I am very happy up here with my new Boss and his family who keep giving me little treats all day and at mealtimes (flutter eyelashes). I do thank everyone from the AAPS Shelter for making my stay there go so well and for introducing me to the big guy who took me home with him. He's such a softy I don't have the heart to take him for all he is worth, yet (snicker).

One thing though, I DO NOT snore so if anyone tells you differently then they are telling fibs. Love to all and Merry Christmas everyone and good luck to all the other animals down there with finding a home full of love and fun as I did. Miss Luna.

P.S Ok , Miss Luna's Boss/Owner/Buddy here. Yes she does snore, like a chainsaw at full revs getting stuck in a tough piece of wood, hehe. But I do want to thank everyone down there for bringing us together as Miss Luna is a dear little girl and has found lots of love here from me and my family. She especially likes going to my parents place for breakfast as my father has porridge every morning and shares it with her which she just adores. I sleep in a queen size bed and you would think there would be plenty of room for both myself and Miss Luna in it at night but somehow she goes to sleep right in the middle of the bed and spreads herself out like a starfish and I end up huddled up in one corner, sigh. But we all have our little crosses to bear and letting her have some comfort is a small price to pay. Anyway thanks again and soon I'll get some pics to post here for you all to see.

Robert.

Kai

Well a update here. I have been with my owners now for 8 months and loving it. I am spoilt but not too spoilt. Love my walks still. But don't like other dogs!!! I love other humans and wish everyone that passed my home window would come and knock on the door. I don't like thunder much at night and i cuddle up to my owners in their bed!!!!!! And I try to take over the bed!!!!!!! They take photos of me  and is treated like their child but they know i am not....... I just want to let you know how I am and that I am loving it and my owners wouldn't have it anyway and if anyone hurt me, they would not be happy. Hope you all had a safe Christmas and all the best for 2006 and that all my fellow dogs find good homes. Kai

Dear Shelter Staff at AAPS,

I wanted to update the people at the AAPS on my progress. My left hind leg has healed following surgery for luxating patella. You can’t tell there was ever anything wrong with my leg ! Soon I’m having my other hind leg done. I love my new home.

I’m so happy I wriggle with joy. I love my snug bed, I have lots of balls to play with and I have my special dolly toy that I like to have with me (see photo). Thank you again.

Coco Smith-Brooks
