Success stories
Duke

Hi to my friends at Keysborough. We are celebrating my birthday today. I have been here one whole year and the best part is that I am more loved than ever. My folks think that I fitted right in here and that I am wonderful. Of course, I am not wonderful all the time (the odd bit of mischief like helping our younger dog to steal a fly trap and empty the contents over our paws.) We didn't have that problem the second time - managed to make it so the lid would never fit the bottle again. I just love being with a family member and can't get close enough to them. You might be able to tell this from one of the photos I am sending you. Had a bath especially for the occasion. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know how I'm doing and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Finding a new home is the best gift of all.

Regards Duke
Henry

Belatedly, some photos of King Henry the First, who is not just a part of the family now, he rules it!

I don't know if you remember how uncontrollable he was, but you'll be pleased to know he now walks on a lead without pulling; sits, stays, catches squeaky toys and balls interminably, and fetches the paper. It goes without saying he is incredibly affectionate, and does allow us a little time to ourselves on occasion. The shots are not great because I don't have a digital camera, but if you increase the size a little, you'll be able to make them out reasonably well. Those of the verandah are where I write each day, and where his Majesty parks himself in front of the fan or the heater, depending on the weather. Thank you for helping us become his obedient subjects. We wish you and the other volunteers a merry Christmas and every success in re-housing all those animals in need in 2006.

Kindest regards, Clive, Lyn and Henry Walker, Lakes Entrance.

Mr Twinkletoes

Hi, Just thought I'd write to let you guys know how my little boy who was adopted him in July '05 is getting on. He's been renamed from "Mr Twinkletoes" to Basil and is liking his new name much better. He's also known as Baz Baz or Grot-bag. He adores my female cat and bosses the dog around despite being a fraction of his size. I now have a semi-permanent computer desk ornament as he loves curling up on his cushion next to me when I'm working. He is a sweet, gentle, loving little cat with a huge personality and I'm so glad to be able to give him a new home. Also, thank you very much for finding such a good match for my female cat- she doesn't like other cats very much but thinks that Basil is pretty ok. I've even caught her licking his head and touching noses with him which I never imagined would happen :) Good luck finding homes for all the other beautiful animals, I'd take them all if I had the room!

Best Wishes, Heather.

Roxy

Hi,

We thought we'd drop you a line and let you know how Roxy (formerly Linda, tag 22500) is settling in. Our other Rotti X, Max enjoys having a friend to play with, but there are times she really tries his patience! She's full of energy and is a real daddy's girl. I've attached a photo, she's grown since we took her home.

Cheers,

Margo Blanch
