Success stories
Odin

Just thought I'd let you know that Odin has settled in well (as you can see by the pictures!). He takes everything in his stride: he wants to play with Lucy the Jack Russell (or the kitty-with-a-woof as we call her), and he likes our other cats. He sleeps on the bed at night with
the other kitties. And he just loves laps :-)

He's getting used to being one-eyed - he no longer has to think before jumping, and he's no longer rubbing where his eye used to be. Although when he looks at something he moves his head from side to side as if to say "Something's not right!"
Thanks
Mairin

Buddy

Hi there,

Just thought I would give you guys an update.

Over a year ago now we got Buddy from AAPS. He was the only dog that wasn’t barking at us & as I wasn’t allowed to get a “girley” dog because my partner wanted a tough looking manly dog, we got Buddy.  As you can see from the first pic (far right) he was a very skinny but beautiful looking staffy x bull terrier.

On the car trip home, he was so disobedient & I had to sit in the back just to control him. Then when we got him home he turned into the biggest sook. We said that we weren’t going to let him inside unless it was raining but that didn’t last long. We started by letting him in only at night, then during the day, now he has his own couch in the lounge room (a human couch) & his bed is at the bottom of our bed where he sleeps every single night.

He is the most adorable pup ever. He never leaves my side. He ran away once, but luckily he was micro-chipped as we got him back that same day. I was in tears the whole day & I think he was too because he never tries escaping from the house when we have the gate or door open.

As you can see from the recent pictures (middle and left above) , he is a big stocky boofa head now, even more beautiful then before. He loves going for his walks & giving anyone he can big kisses (which smell bad) & huge, huge cuddles. He stays inside unless there is no one home.  He is spoilt rotten but that’s ok because he spoils me with his love.

If only he liked other dogs, we would adopt another poor pup from AAPS. Thanks AAPS you are doing a wonderful job & Buddy & I are spreading the word that everyone should get their pets from you.

Oscar

Hello Nicky & all - Remember me?

You would probably remember me as 22670, or Harley. I didn’t like Harley so I told my new mum and dad to call me Oscar. I have been at my new home for just over a year now and I love it.

In the warm months I go water skiing with the family and have a great time. At home I spend a lot of time inside when it is cold. But we still go for lots of walks and runs in the parks. Here is my photo to show you that I am well.

Love Oscar.

Ralph

Hello to everyone at Keysborough,

Just thought you may like an update on Patch, now “RALPH”. He is delightful and always makes us laugh, and a real character.

It took no time at all really for me to settle in and basically run the house. I enjoy plenty of walks, either at the beach, around the streets, but my favorite is going to the dog-off-lead park and having a run and a play with all my doggy friends. I am quite well loved by all who meet me; I am personality plus, I’m funny and a little naughty and I love playing with toys and oh, socks, I keep nicking them!! I haven’t quite settled in with THE cat unfortunately, I just want to play and as the cat is 15, and quite frankly, not interested in me, I am still coming to terms with that. She is still giving me the occasional wack! Here is a photo of my favorite toy, I fling him around the house, especially when all the family is home so they have to play with me.

Thank you all very much for looking after me until I found my new home, and, you never know, one day my family might return and get me a friend.

Sista and Humphrey

Hello AAPS friends,

My name is Sista, but I was formerly known as tag. 15266 . I was adopted a few months back now, after my new owners submitted a "cat wanted" form.
Before I was adopted, I had to have all my fur shaved as I was covered in knots. My new owners adopted another cat from AAPS four and a half years ago. His name is Humphrey. We are good friends now, and I am his new sister - (even though I am a boy), hence my name. I have settled in well here, my favorite hobbies are bird watching, crispy eating, drinking and rolling on the grass. My fur is slowly growing back and I feel much better now. I am much easier to brush than my new friend Humphrey. As you see we get on very well, and are well suited together being the same breed.
Thankyou AAPS for helping to give me a new life at Age 8. I wish all the other cats at AAPS could come and live with me here, but hopefully other nice people will give them homes too. Anyway, must go, I have some couch sitting to do.

Sista and Humphrey MacDonald
