Barney

BarneyFat Barney

Hi. my name is Ian Morrison and i'm writing to you on behalf of Natalie Hicks.

In august 2006 we adopted "Barney". He is a 12 year old mini Fox Terrier cross.Just thought i'd send in a few pictures and let you know that he's settled in well with "Punky" our 11 month old Collie Jack Russell cross.

Barney enjoys a walk every 2nd day as he finds the going a bit tough to walk every day at his age. He was at your establishment for a whole month., On arrival to our place he weighed 5kg and has since put on 1.5kg and looks nice and healthy! He has fitted in extremely well and likes nothing more than to chew on bones all day in the back yard and generally wait all day for his dinner time, which, never seems too come early enough for him!

We've no regrets about adopting an older dog. He's no hassle at all and has taught our pup how to be a dog I think!

Thanks,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,Ian and Nat

Cookie

Cookie and lemons

Cookie was adopted by the Snibson family and has a great life in Eltham.

Her backyard is a jungle with lots of trees to scratch and climb, and lots of flowers to smell. She teases mice around the chicken pen, has killed/scared all rats away, caught a number of birds (not native), and vomits lizards on the patio. She also enjoyed watching the goldfish in the pond which mysteriously ended up in the middle of the driveway.

She also enjoys coming inside during the day as she likes company. She sleeps in a cozy warm bed in the laundry, and is usually always indoors by 5pm. She is spoilt with many toys and a large scratching post.

Cookie is a very hyper cat and can be quite naughty at times as she likes to bite peoples wrists when they are exposed. She likes to run up and down the house and plays games. Her hyperactive nature is what influenced her owners into adopting her.

Cookie gets christmas and birthday presesnts every year. She doesn't mind her monthly baths (she just stands there!) She has annual vet check ups, and her owners are always told she is in great health, and has a good weight. Her owners are cat lovers, and strongly believe in desexing of all cats apart from owners who are licensed breeders.

Cookie is and always will be a very loved cat.

Love Stella.

Marty

We adopted Marty (although you might remember him as Barney, we had to change the name because we had previously owned a dog called Barney) from the AAPS last September. He is a gorgeous 21 month old poodle cross shitsu.

Before adopting, we spent months trying to find the perfect dog for our family. We needed one that was good with young children. When I first saw Marty, my heart melted. he was gorgeous! We asked one of the staff members if we could meet him. He was great, very excited to meet us. We were told that he would need a lot of child stimulation, which was great! There are four children in my family.

After meeting Marty and being with him for a little while, I knew that he was the perfect dog for me. He sat quietly on my lap while my Mum went and signed the papers and paid for him.

We decided to come back the next day to pick him up. I was a bit worried that he might not like the other members of my family, he had only met my Mum and I. I shouldn't have worried, the rest of my family fell in love with him just as I had, and Marty loved them.

The first few days we had Marty were very tiring. Marty and I curled up on the couch together, and fell asleep each day for the first few days. He hadn't had much training, but he learned quickly.

Marty and I get along so well. He loves walks and food. He also likes to sit on the couch and watch TV, while i brush him.

I would like to say thank you to everyone at the AAPS for helping me to find the perfect dog. You all do such a great job.

Thanks so much, Megan and Marty Reid.

Ike

Ike

Hi there!

Just dropping anotetosay I' mdoing very well. I'm almost 3 years old now and

it's been over a year since my adoption.I was called Toby when I met my new
parents but I was soon tobe known as Ike. I've put on 6 kilos since my
adoption in September 2005 and am now a muscly 36kg. As I seemed to crave
canine company my parents decided to adopt a friend for meafter 4 months. We

got Pip (in the background) from a shelter in Malvern. We are best friends
and spend lots of time playing at home, at the park or the beach.
Thank you for finding me a great home and taking care of me.
Happy new year.

IKE
